Dear Friend of SAVE,
Would you like to end 2020 on a positive note? We know that COVID-19 has done much more than disrupt our coding classes at Cordata and Alderwood elementary schools in Bellingham. It has affected the physical and financial health of many families and pushed countless businesses to the brink and forcing some to close.
But we’re determined to end 2020 strong with plans to revive Kids Biz Club after-school classes and a program for homeless adults at Lighthouse Mission Ministries. Participants learn business basics and coding skills. They develop an idea for a business and are taught how to create a basic website for it. We are also launching a free class to help small business owners expand their online presence.
Now more than ever, we believe that giving students and adults an opportunity is important. At SAVE, we see ourselves as a catalyst for releasing the curiosity and energy of the individual, helping our economy and communities grow in a healthier and self-reliant way.
We would love to count on your continued support to help us meet our program and project needs for 2021. Here are a couple ways to do that:
- SAVE the date and time of 10 a.m. Jan. 16 for Roll for the Kids, a bowling fundraiser at Park Bowl in Bellingham. Details to come as we see what the state will allow.
- Are you a retiree or approaching retirement? You may want to designate SAVE for a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) from your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) by the end of 2019 or in 2020. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Please contact Board Member Dick Donahue, Asset Advisors, (360) 733-1200 if you have questions.
- Donate through the enclosed envelope or online at savenw.org (click on donate button).
Thank you for your support. Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year in 2021!
Sincerely,
Kris Halterman, President Board Members Bill Knutzen
